Workshop on Combating Illegal Trade in Endangered Species

The Two Countries Three Parties Workshop on Combating Illegal Trade in Endangered Species and Their Products was held in Shenzhen, China on 10-12 May 2019. Senior officials and front line officers of relevant regional Customs from mainland of China, Hong Kong SAR, and Vietnam were invited to participate in the Workshop. 

Representative of RILO AP was also invited to make a presentation on the general trends of illegal trade in major species such as ivory, pangolin, rhino horn, reptile and precious endangered timber, which provided field officers with indicators for further targeting and profiling.  In addition to seizures statistics, officers of Customs control, intelligence and investigation exchanged operational information and made concrete action plan to suppress the transnational organized crime and crack down on organized syndicates.
