On 12 May 2021, WCO RILO AP in cooperation with the WCO and Korea Customs Service organized an Online Debriefing Seminar of Operation GOALS. The Operation was initially proposed by Korea Customs Service aiming at interdicting synthetic drugs trafficked through all modes of transportation.

Operation GOALS was launched with the participation of 79 WCO Member Customs, 8 WCO RILOS, and 11 International Organizations and national enforcement agencies. 

For the Debriefing Seminar, the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization, Dr. Kunio Mikuriya and the Commissioner of Korea Customs Service, Mr. Lim Jae-Hyun made the remarks at the beginning of a seminar. During the second session, Mr. Kim Young Kyoung, the Deputy Head of RILO AP and the representatives of participating administrations, including Belgium, Korea, Lebanon, Mexico, and Russia shared their experience and the outcome of the Operation.

WCO RILO AP conducted the role of the Operational Coordination Unit during the three-weeks-intensive control with the active support and cooperation of participants.
