Regional Seminar on Intelligence and CEN Sharing

RILO AP had an Intelligence and CEN Sharing Regional Seminar with Member administrations in Asia and the Pacific region from 2 to 3 June 2021. 42 participants from 14 Member Administrations joined the seminar via an online platform Zoom due to COVID-19. The Member Administrations who participated were Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, China, Iran, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, New Zealand, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

The seminar opened with the welcoming address of Mr. YoungKyoung KIM, Deputy Head of RILO AP. During the seminar, he delivered the progress report 2021, including information exchange, RILO AP’s publications, joint enforcement operations, ongoing projects and future plan. Besides, RILO AP illustrated analysis of CEN trends in AP region and ongoing projects.

During the seminar, presenters from Member Administrations reported the latest trends, remarkable seizures and updates for their contribution to the regional enforcement activities in specific areas such as drugs, duty evasion and environmental issues. Delegates also actively shared their opinions about seminar programs and showed a lot of interest in the latest smuggling trends and efforts to crack down on the border.

As a result of the seminar, delegates from Member Administrations confirmed and agreed on the importance of information exchange and cooperation among Member countries, and urged each other to continue cooperation in the future.
