CEN Online Training

RILO AP conducted the second CEN Online Training of this year with 15 people in 64 member administrations in AP region on 20 October 2021. After success of the first Online training, RILO AP decided to deliver CEN training based on the requests for many Member Administrations, which were collected for CEN users in July. The participants were National Contact Points (NCPs) from Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong (China), India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippine, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam.

CEN Online training started with a welcome remark from Mr. Youngkyoung KIM, the deputy head of RILO AP. Taking this opportunity, he asked participants to use CEN actively and effectively in order to extend the CEN data usability and maintain high quality. After his remark, Ms. Jiwon KIM, CEN manager of RILO AP, give a presentation on the introduction and theory of CEN. Then, Mr. Taichi Nakayama, CEN manager of RILO AP, explained the utilization of CEN in detail. These sessions focused on how to use the CEN, composition of the CEN and nCEN, latest CEN statistics and Q&A.

In this Online CEN training, two representatives from Member Administrations gave their presentations. Japan Customs introduced how to use effectively CEN data and Advance Search, which is a useful function in to CEN. Sri Lanka Customs presented how to use CEN data for analysis of smuggling trends and introduced noticeable cases.
